Corona influence - from deceleration to the new everyday life

Corona has changed the way we move around in spaces - and thus abruptly reminded us again that the success of the real estate industry is centrally dependent on whether and how users can use real estate according to their needs. What can we learn from this?

In addition to its shock, the Corona crisis also brought deceleration for many in the spring of 2020. Getting out into nature, a walk in the park or a short trip to the water became a feature. The desire for exercise and relaxation came to the fore, after all, most days were spent at home - isolated from the outside world. One's own balcony became a green space, decorating, redesigning and creating a beautiful environment - because this is where people now worked, learned and lived. People baked together on social media, shared design tips, and showed off their leafy home office. Tenants who had lived next door to each other for years without even knowing each other's names offered to help and support each other. They kept their distance but became closer. People adapted to the new situation and companies that had always refused home offices learned that it works after all. And so a new everyday working life began

Corona has changed the world of work

The world of work has also changed abruptly: Still - and probably for several more months - many are working from home. Employees who had long wanted home offices learned the benefits of a classic office. Events and travel are dropping by the dozen. "What's needed now is flexible, digital solutions that connect everything while streamlining processes," says Eric Aplyn, CEO of Allthings. In this regard, Aplyn draws on many years of experience in the SaaS scene and is already delivering the right solution for about 300 customers and partners. A way back to life before the pandemic is unthinkable, people are looking ahead. Greater flexibility is in demand, health, quality of life and hybrid co-working have become more important. It's about feeling good even when we're going about our duties - whether in the office or at home.

New challenges for offices and homes

Crises accelerate progress, and this will also be seen in offices and homes. The shift from the conservative office model to a mobile workplace was heard before Corona and is now simply accelerating. The success of the real estate industry depends centrally on adapting real estate to people's needs. More flexibility is required, the working day is being reorganized and the workplace is becoming less location-bound. Offices are not losing their importance, they are becoming places of encounter. Innovatively designed areas for collaborative working, comfortable break or cooking and catering areas and modern conference rooms are in demand.
