New on the Allthings platform: real-time energy consumption data thanks to Blockstrom integration

Allthings Technologies AG, the leading provider of modular tenant platforms, and the metering service provider Blockstrom AG have integrated energy consumption data at apartment level into the tenant platform. The two PropTech companies are thus creating a link between the megatrends of digitization and decarbonization: the building becomes a power plant, with energy consumption being recorded electronically and made available to the tenant in real time and in a user-friendly form.

Over the past five years, AXA has built the "Schöngrün" residential area on the site of a former detention center. The new building houses 160 apartments of all sizes, which can be reached without any obstacles. The historic buildings have been carefully renovated and remain part of the site. During the construction of the area, sustainability was given high priority. The residents can rent an electric car and electric bikes, heating is provided by district heating and a large photovoltaic system was installed on the roof of the house. With the electricity from the solar power plant, the residents are supplied with their own green energy for their own consumption.

Blockstrom is responsible for measuring and billing the energy consumption. For the first time, the consumption data is made available via the Allthings tenant platform and can be accessed by residents via an app. This means that tenants can view the consumption data via the same platform on which they already communicate with the property management and fellow tenants. The tenant receives a direct link to the power plant on the roof of the house and can analyze his or her electricity consumption and adjust it to the availability of solar power.

Urs Martin Springer, CEO of Blockstrom, is pleased about the achievement of this milestone: "The cooperation between Allthings and Blockstrom shows how the digitalization of the real estate industry can succeed: With the courage to innovate and the will to cooperate of all parties involved".

The energy consumption data is transferred to Allthings via a secure and high-performance real-time interface. Allthings integrates the data into its platform and makes it available in the form of easy-to-understand graphics. Registration is integrated into the tenant app, so residents do not need separate access data for the Blockstrom metering data portal.

David Gundlach, Head of Product at Allthings, also confirms the success of the first joint project: "The integration of Blockstrom to measure energy consumption data was implemented smoothly thanks to the open, modular structure of the platform. The interface between the two systems enables a real-time overview of consumption data. The cooperation with Blockstrom thus not only creates added value for the tenants, but also allows us to make a contribution to the very relevant topic of sustainability".

The new service is being implemented for the first time in the "Schöngrün" pilot project. Various other projects are in progress and will be put into operation during the course of the year.
